Here are just a few from the past week…

While campaigning for president in 2016, and for awhile after he was elected, Donald Trump defiantly (nonsensically) pledged that Mexico would pay for his border wall. After much pushback, and several strange turns, it appears that the very military that claims to have so much love for will be paying for his statue of White Supremacy. While rumored to be in the works several weeks ago, $3.6 billion is now being diverted away from already existing domestic & military projects ($1.8 each)-and these funds will be used to fund his signature campaign project going in 2020. In total, 127 programs will be negatively impacted by these cuts including: cyber defense operations, naval vessel repair, $63 million in funding for a middle school in Slick Mitch’s home state military base at Ft. Campbell, $400 million previously earmarked to repair the damage done to Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria, $771 million originally commissioned for military staging and tactical defense in Europe, $22 million was taken away from facilities that store & manage hazardous waste, and more. Reportedly 23 states will see their local economies hit by these cuts, and several of his own Republican Cult Members in Congress are said to be fuming after finding that their states were not exempt from his foolishness. If this sees its way past court challenges, any opposition should seize the opportunity to point out how often he claimed that his predecessors weakened the military and economy. He lies so much; he probably doesn’t even remember that ish. Make sure that you’re counting though. Congress had already been squeezed out of approximately $2.8 billion over the past two years, Trump’s Declaration Of An (Self-Created) Emergency gave him the access to steal $8.1 million away various government funds-he also reallocated $600 million from The Treasury Department’s asset forfeiture treasure trove, $3.6 billion from military housing construction, and $2.5 billion away from drug enforcement. Aren’t the last two programs among the alleged reasons why he said a wall was needed-and isn’t that waaaaaay more than the $5.6 billion he asked for???!!! SMDH.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, it seems that Trump’s minions are still in damage control mode. And per usual, their efforts follow that same playbook of bullying others into doing what they are told regardless of how insane it may sound. For those that don’t remember, Trump went live with a map of the forecasted potential damage expected from the storms. What made this so odd, was that there lines drawn with a sharpie (outside of the officially determined danger zone) that predicted that the state of Alabama was in eminent danger. Of course he was wrong, and of course he went out of his way to defend it. Even worse, Trump & and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross directed The National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to put a hush on the scientists that could/would/did contradict him with the facts. Fearing poor morale on the job, and the appearance of the obvious (that politics had now Trumped Scientific Facts), NOAA staffers were sent a damage control email praising their work & especially going out of its way to big up the very Birmingham, Alabama scientists they bashed one week prior. Nothing makes sense anymore…

Always campaigning and seeking to make things about him, 45 sought to fabricate history in a way tto make himself look good. So on 9/11, of all days, Trump rolled out a story of how he and “his employees” rushed out to help first responders after the second plane hit the towers. Apparently he’s been telling this at every opportunity since two days after the towers fell. The first reported occurrence of this foolishness came on German TV-and he’s repeated this to actual first responders and many more. In the case of his appearance on German Television, he claimed to have had more than 100 people on the ground-with another 100 on the way. Now don’t you think someone would have noticed this, if it were true? Yet no one has ever come forward with any evidence to prove it. And this from a man that has never, EVER, shied away from a chance to be in the spotlight. SMDH.
